Organization
Waukesha County Youth Hockey Association (WCYHA), founded in 1974, is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to the sport of youth hockey and run by dedicated volunteers. We are an affiliate of USA Hockey and the Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association. We currently serve children in a defined territory, determined by WAHA, in the following school districts: Kettle Moraine, Mukwonago, Oconomowoc, Pewaukee, Waukesha, and New Berlin.
We are privileged to utilize and rent ice from the county- owned Eble Park and Nagawaukee Ice Arenas that serve as our home rinks. WCYHA is a Division 1 Organization as classified by Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association. We generally field about 25 youth teams from Mini- mite to Bantam level with competitive and recreational level teams. Our season runs September through March.
In addition to team play our Hockey Skill Development Program is designed to introduce basic skills required to play on a competitive hockey team. Your child may participate in our Hockey Development Program in order to learn skating skills simply for recreational skating, or as the first step to playing hockey on a team. Children who desire to play on an organized hockey team with WCYHA must complete both parts of WCYHA’s Hockey Skill Development Program. It runs annually October through March. Once you have completed this program your child will be eligible to play on a team the following season.
